FIXERS JAPAN Produced Three Japanese Episodes for "stories+Objectives"

1. The Expensive Kimono (Kyoto)
2. Maiwai Spirit (Kamogawa, Chiba)
3. Forged From The Past (Nara & Osaka)

Man'iwai-zome is a traditional dyeing technique that originated in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture during the Edo period (1603-1868). This special method is used to create vibrant designs on celebratory fishermen's robes called 'Man'iwai,' which were worn to commemorate bountiful catches. The colorful patterns typically feature auspicious maritime motifs and were traditionally made using natural indigo dyes.

As part of the collaborative project "stories+Objectives," FIXERS JAPAN was responsible for producing/fixing three unique Japanese episodes. These episodes showcased compelling narratives rooted in Japan's culture, society, or innovation, aligning with the project's global storytelling vision. By blending local authenticity with universal themes, FIXERS JAPAN contributed a distinct perspective to the series, enriching its diverse collection of stories.

Bye-Bye! It was an incredible experience working with this talented production team from Sweden to document Japan's dynamic baseball scene and the remarkable women's softball team. (In Sweden, these sports are not known well at all) The project's success was greatly supported by FIXERS JAPAN, a highly skilled casting and fixer service specializing in international film productions. The Danish adaptation of Race Across the World, titled Først til verdens ende ("First to the End of the World"), aired its fourth season on Denmark's TV 2 in 2024. This season featured contestants racing from Tokyo, Japan, to Bali, Indonesia, navigating various challenges without the aid of mobile phones or credit cards.

FIXERS JAPAN played a pivotal role in supporting the production during its time in Japan. Our contributions likely included location scouting, securing filming permits, providing bilingual 5 x fixers on each team, and managing logistics with total 12 x drivers to ensure smooth operations from starting point, Tokyo to Fukuoka. Such local expertise would have been essential for the production's success in a foreign environment.
