This time our story brings you into the alleyways of Tsukiji Markets to learn new elements of the worldwide common spice of black pepper that we all love.

Tetsu and Yuko, the owners of the are very generous in giving everyone who visits the cafe free tasting of fresh black peppercorn, salted and not sun-dried. The fruit-forward taste profile with a hint of sweetness surprised all of our storytellers today!

The cafe also offers tasty cuisine and drinks that pairs with the peppers, including their famous spiced butterfly pea pepper lemonade and the build-your-own hand tossed pizzas! (Approved by a travelling Italian Family after they visited them again 4 more times in their one week in Tokyo)

The owners are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable of their products through their years of experience as a spice importer, and they are very happy to answer your every question regarding black pepper!

It has been 5 years since I travelled to Japan with no guarantee on a job, and looking back to my life journey travelling in this amazing yet confusing country of Nippon, I realized I have created many valuable and unique connections and networks with the people of Japan, whether they are Japanese or foreigners who made their decision like me to stay in the island for just a little longer.

I realized that each person, community, village, town or even metropolis like Osaka and Tokyo have so many stories that I could recite and present to the wider audiences, and so I decided to start my own storytelling tour company called Re:Imagine Travel in Osaka!

I present to you personalized tours that can be adjusted and tailored to what you want to do, and where you want to go, on the way providing context to the new narrative about your adventure in Japan, one that YOU can compose and create together!

I also provide travel consultations and resources for you to create your own storytelling experience, designed and curated personally so that you can have the flexibility to choose but also bespoke experience that you can enjoy.

I wanted to create tours that I would like to enjoy myself so the tour plans (or personalized tours) are made with the philosophy of fun, enjoyment and flexibility before strict timelines!

I've had the golden opportunity to meet one of the geisha performer in Kyoto and got to know more about her and the industry of Geisha, often shrouded in mystery, ambiguity and misconception from international cultural works.

This is the story of Toshinana-san, a young Geisha of 9 months experience after going through 6 years of apprenticeship known as the Maiko training. She made her resolve to join the training after her fateful school trip to Kyoto. There she traded her time with family and apprenticed under a Yakata dormitory in Kyoto far from her hometown, training under the care of the Mother of Yakata dormitory and her senior Ohne-san or sisters.

She is very glad she chose on this path as she felt that by being a Geisha she is helping to preserve an important legacy of art and culture of Japan, and she loved interacting and presenting her passion on Japanese traditions to both Japanese and overseas tourists coming to Kyoto.

She took on her Geisha name Toshi and the last Na from her senior ohne-san and added the Na that means seven in kanji characters as respect to her mentor.

March-April 2023 Sakura Post!

Japan 🗾 has been blessed with an early and vibrant bloom of sakura this year with most pedals opening at around the same time so that every tree became its very own work of art. It also made us as photographers easier to take great photos :)

I took them from various locations so for the first time I will reveal the location as below:

2022 was a year of strife and instability for the world and me personally, but I have the biggest opportunities to travel Japan extensively and finish my goal of travelling across 47 prefectures of Japan, completing my goal that I set up to do since 2018.

I would like to close the year by travelling to one of my homes within Japan, Kanazawa and Ishikawa, showcasing what are some of the best things you can see (Way more than 10 photos can fit but instagram limitations and photo scaling issues).

Here are some that fit in with the scales.

2023 will be a year of change and new resolutions, and many more travels to come!
