Can confirm Hokkaido isn’t just for winter 👌🏻

We spent this past May chasing the Yamazakura (mountain sakura) and honestly... Hokkaido in spring doesn’t get nearly the love it deserves. 🌸 They were more luscious than we expected 😱 and the best part was that most spots were so comfortable for strolls and hanami compared to the crowds in the main island cities.

It was also our first trip putting the Sony A7CII to the test, and being able to immortalise these vivid spring memories exactly how they looked in real life has been amazing. No regrets, hugeee shoutout to the team at Sony Singapore

We said we’d be back and we did!! We fell in love with Glamp Sora in winter, so getting to experience it outside of the snowy season was such a joy too. Honestly, it’s a different kind of fun! We finally did it. We let our shoes (and our camera) onsen in a Japanese public shoe washing machine! 🤣🫧

These shoe laundries are everywhere in Japan, and we just had to know if they actually do a good job. For ¥500 and about 30 mins, honestly we’d say yes!

But the most fun part was getting to play around with the DJI Osmo Action 6. Since it’s basically indestructible and tiny enough to fit anywhere, we got to capture the exact POV of our shoes chilling in a bath 😌🛀

Love how this small camera can turn a travel errand into a fun experiment, without having to lug around even more heavy gear than we already do haha!

Happy wife, coffee life. ☕️🤝🍫

My ongoing struggle: I love hunting down incredible specialty coffee, and Fiona... well, she usually gets dragged along and is left staring at a menu with barely any non-coffee options.

But here is the ultimate compromise in Sapporo. Coffee & Chocolate Marley is a late-night kissaten that takes its cacao just as seriously as its coffee beans. The pure bean-to-bar craft chocolate kept her happy, and paired perfectly with my dark roast fix.

With some slow jazz spinning in the background, we actually found a cafe we can both agree on.
