To close out 2025, I’m heading on a Raja Ampat tour with a wonderful group of guests!

This is my first time back on board in five years since producing the promotional video for Neomi Cruise in 2020, and the cruise ship is as incredibly comfortable as ever.

Raja Ampat is one of my absolute favorite seas in the world—easily ranking in my top five. Every time I visit, I’m captivated by the sheer abundance of fish, the breathtaking beauty of the coral, and its incredible diversity. Underwater, there are simply too many scenes I want to capture, and I find myself constantly turning my lens in every direction, completely absorbed.

In the first half of the trip, we visited Kri Island to see one of Raja Ampat’s iconic highlights: the Yellow Ribbon Sweetlips. They formed an enormous school, like a living wall, leaving everyone deeply moved.
And everywhere you look, there are carpet sharks (wobbegong sharks), another signature of this region.

1日1日をありがたく生きてけてるという事は日本に住む僕たちにとっては「当たり前」なのかもしれない。
でも世界では「当たり前」に生きていけない人もいる。
この曲がどこかそう語っている様にも聞こえた。
自然界でも同じ事。
息ができてラッキー。
屋根があってラッキー。
光があってラッキー。
もう少し物事に対して「ありがとう」という気持ちを持っていこうと思った。

この曲を使いたいと思った時に、真っ先に八丈島で撮影した亀が浮かんだ。

Living each day with gratitude might feel “normal” for those of us who live in Japan.
But there are people in the world who can’t take living for granted.
This song sounded to me as if it was quietly telling that story.
The same is true in nature.
Being able to breathe—lucky.
Having a roof over your head—lucky.
Having light—lucky.
It made me want to carry a stronger sense of “thank you” for the things around me.

When I thought about using this song, the first image that came to mind was the turtle I filmed in Hachijō-jima.

先日、快晴の中、大瀬崎週末限定のポイント「先端」で潜ってきました。
特に楽しみだったのがの新しいストロボYS-D130Rを初めて試してみてワイド写真を撮影する事だった。
パワーがグーンとと上がった新しいストロボは冬の透明度の高くて、明るい水中では色々と試せる環境でもあったので良かった。
色々と新しくなってとても使いやすかった。
特に新しくなったカラーLCDパネルはとてもみやすくてその時の設定が一目瞭然だ。
電池も独自開発の物も新しく作られたので充電も楽々となり、連写にも対応している。
私の作品を撮影するのに、これからはいろんなを共に旅していく使新たな相棒加わった。

The other day, I went diving at the weekend-only point “The tip” at Osezaki under clear, sunny skies.
What I was especially excited about was trying out the new YS-D130R strobe from for the first time and shooting wide-angle photos.

The new strobe has a significant boost in power, and with the high winter visibility and bright underwater conditions, it was the perfect environment to experiment with different settings.
So many things have been updated, making it extremely easy to use.

The newly upgraded color LCD panel is especially impressive—it’s very easy to read, and you can instantly see your current settings at a glance.
The batteries have also been newly developed in-house, making charging simple, and they support continuous shooting as well.

A new partner has joined me—one that I’ll be traveling with from now on to help me create my work.

「ピンチをチャンスに」

今日は大瀬崎ナイトに行ってきました。
大瀬館マリンサービスの若松樹弥くんに誘われ浮遊系にチャレンジ！
みきやくんを始め、大瀬館のスタッフは皆生き物に詳しくて、全力で海の案内をしてくれるのでカメラマンにとっては感謝しかありません。
今回も色々しっかりと潜水計画を立てて、みきやくんが先にライトを設置しに、そして後から僕はワイドとマクロを持って合流。
無事に合流したんだけど、15分ぐらいで迷子。
ワイドの撮影が終わってマクロに切り替えようと思ったけど中層だしな〜ワイドどっかに置きたいな〜と思いながらもBCの横にワイドを付けて生き物を探していた。
「みきやくんどこかな〜」なんて心の中でつぶやきながら暫く浮遊。
（ちなみにみきやくんはちゃんと他のゲストをガイドしており、迷子になった僕が悪い笑）
「やばいぞ、このままだと何も撮れない！ピンチ！」
なんて思ってたら、何かが目の前に現れる。
「ん？なんか見たことある。」「あっ、レアなやつ！テンガイハタ！」
マクロで撮るが、RGBlueがやたら好きなのかカメラに向かってくる！
フォーカスライトだと正面しか撮れない！
「あっ、ワイド邪魔！」「あっ、全然撮れない！」
そしてどんどん流されていく。。。
もうマクロは諦めようと思い一旦アームとかを畳んだワイドをまた準備して、ワイドに交換！
RGBlueを片手にあっちの方向を照らして横を向いたところを連写〜
なんとか撮影できた！というか格闘した！

やっぱり大瀬崎ってすごいんだな〜と改めて感じた！
実際にテンガイハタを見るのは2回目だけど以前見た時は日中だった！
夜の方がピンクっぽくてキレイ！
今日もいい海でした！

女川でのダイビングスタイルをご紹介します！
ダイビングのイメージといえば、南国やリゾートのイメージが強いかもしれませんが、ここ宮城県女川町でのダイビングスタイルは少し違うのでちょっと紹介します！
基本的にはドライスーツで潜るし、漁師さんの船で潜るんですがめちゃめちゃ快適なんです！
ポイントもすぐ近くなので楽チン！
水中の生き物も珍しい生き物が沢山なのでめちゃめちゃオススメな海の一つです！

Let me introduce the diving style in Onagawa!
When you think of diving, you might picture tropical islands or resort destinations, but the diving style here in Onagawa, Miyagi is a little different — so let me tell you about it!

We mainly dive in drysuits and use local fishermen’s boats, and it’s incredibly comfortable.
The dive sites are also very close by, so it’s super easy to get around!
Underwater, you’ll find many rare and unique marine creatures, making this one of the most highly recommended oceans to explore.
