Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi arrived back in Japan on Tuesday evening following visits to Vietnam and Australia.

“It was a productive trip, as we reached agreements to advance practical cooperation based on the expanded vision of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP),” she said in a post on X that day.

Takaichi also noted that she reaffirmed collaboration with Vietnam and Australia to ensure stable energy supplies and diversify supply chains in light of the situation in the Middle East.

“This marks a significant step forward in securing petroleum products and other essential goods for Japan,” she added.
