Happy Marine Day Japan 💙🌊🇯🇵

Marine Day, or Umi no Hi (海の日) in Japanese, is a national holiday in Japan celebrated on the third Monday of July.

It's a day to express gratitude for the ocean's blessings and to consider the importance of the sea to Japan as a maritime nation.

The holiday was established in 1996 and is a relatively new addition to Japan's public holidays.

Just 8.5 kilometers from Narita Airport, it attracts an increasing numbers of foreign tourists, especially those who have a long layovers in transit — an accessible destination and a short train ride from either JR East Narita Station or Keisei Narita Station. From each station, it is just a short walk to the temple.
