Tendonitis.

I injured my right thumb a little, so I’ve been exploring gentler ways to continue stitching.

Embroidery is not just work for me.
It is also a quiet form of therapy, meditation, and survival.

Instead of stopping, I am thinking carefully about what I can still do, and moving forward little by little.

Different stitching methods.
Different hand movements.
Different rhythms.

Perhaps this is also one form of Zen:
accepting change, adapting slowly, and continuing the journey one stitch at a time.

This morning's journey is now archived.

Slow Stitch Diaries 3rd vol.10 — Dust of Heart.

Thank you for being there. For witnessing the stitches, the wrinkles forming, the quiet passage of time.

Non-verbal, no chat. Just the rhythm we know.

The desert journey is complete.

After months of stitching on sand-colored fabric, the final session of Slow Stitch Diaries 2nd is now on YouTube.

It was a long desert road. Every stitch holds a moment, a memory, something that happened while my hands moved.

Thank you for walking this journey with me.

From desert colors to heart colors. From sand tones to dusty rose. The journey continues.

Will you walk with me again?

Yesterday and today, my heart has been huddled in the deepest reaches of the Mariana Trench, holding its breath, shrinking to its smallest size.

When grief overwhelms me — when its weight becomes something no pair of shoulders was ever meant to bear — the ocean floor becomes my refuge. Not a place of despair, but of stillness.
A place where the pressure outside matches something I already feel within, and where, somehow, that brings a strange and quiet comfort.
I don’t think I am alone in knowing this place.

Some of us live close to the trench. We find our way there when the surface world asks too much of us — when we have given everything and still feel it wasn’t enough. When the ordinary weight of a single day presses down like fathoms of water.
And so I wait there, enveloped in the slow embrace of the deep, until I am ready to rise again.

No rushing. No forcing.

Just the water, holding me — until I can hold myself.

As Mother’s Day and the anniversary of my mother’s passing approach,
I have decided to draw a line within myself.

There are things I have carried since childhood for a very long time.
Within my family, I was given roles at a very young age, and there are experiences I was never able to put into words.

Even birthdays were combined with my brother’s, with only one cake.
I have almost no memory of being told “happy birthday” on my own birthday.
There was one time I asked to be celebrated, and it was accepted, but the following year everything returned to how it was before.

The impact of these experiences continued into my adulthood.
And last summer, something happened that finally caused what I had been holding together inside to collapse.

I have decided that I can no longer maintain any connection with family that live in Okinawa.

This is not to blame anyone,
but a decision to protect my own heart.

From now on, I will live my life for myself.

As for my family relationships, I am bringing them to a close here.
