Hayy Japan! 🌸So fortunate to see these “early blooming” cherry blossoms called “Kawazu Sakura”. 🌸 It’s our first pick of numerous sakura spots we’ve been seeing online for Tokyo.🌸
1️⃣Tip1: Look for early blooming because early March is still considered winter season and not yet really spring-sakura season. Looking at photos/reviews on Google Maps will help you find out if it’s already blooming or not. Sometimes people are even kind enough to post how much percentage of blooms are there already!

2️⃣Tip2: Lighting. Decide if you want to see the flowers in the morning, afternoon (golden hour like us) or night. Check if the lighting is good during your chosen time 😉 We arrived a bit late as the sun was going down and had little time left o catch the golden hour sunlight on the flowers… most trees were in the shade already. I had to do a lot of post-editing to brighten up the pics/vids you see in this reel.
3️⃣Tip3: Pics. Bring a tripod or a companion if you want those full body shots. Many spots or open parks are ok with this but most paid parks don’t allow tripods. If selfies are already ok for you, no problemo. Expect crowds during the weekends (maybe that’s a plus since you can ask some tourist to take a pic of you).
