🪷One of the largest Buddha statues in the world – Ushiku Daibutsu in Ibaraki. The peaceful statue dominates the local area at 120m tall. Head inside for Buddhist art exhibitions and a view of the surrounding landscape from 85m high ⛰️ Have you been?

The Tokyo National Museum is a must-see for learning about Japan’s history through traditional art and crafts. The rooms are divided into sections according to subject matter and time (pottery, textiles. samurai armour, swords, and so much more). You can also try out a few fun activities like making your own ukiyo-e print from stamps. Don’t miss the gift shop! You’ll find beautiful art prints, postcards, souvenirs and a ton of art-related books. We picked up quite a few books from Tuttle and some lovely ukiyo-e coffee table books. Have you been?
