Checked out the newly opened Everyday Sauna Tokyo before heading to ZOZO Marine Stadium, and honestly, it might be the ultimate route for a perfect day.

Absolutely refreshed and fully recharged.

My friend Glenn from my university days in the UK came to visit Japan from Norway, so we caught up over dinner in Tokyo!

Turns out it had been 13 years since we last met — felt seriously nostalgic.

Norway is way too expensive for me right now 😂 but once the weak yen finally calms down, I’ll definitely come visit!

Annual family mission at my parents’ place: firewood delivery complete.
Thanks to a certain someone, the house still runs on a wood stove — but at least we’re ready for winter now.
After hauling all that wood, I think I’ve earned a little sushi reward 🍣

We helped produce CNA’s documentary series "Good Death Innovators" - exploring grief, memory, AI, and new funeral cultures across Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

We had the pleasure of working as the fixer for the Japan segment of CNA’s Insight episode “Asia in the New World Order.”

This project was produced entirely remotely, so we handled the local production in Tokyo in a role similar to a field producer—from arranging interviews to directing the shoot on site.

On Thursday, we filmed with Yamaharu, one of the major seafood wholesalers in Japan.
We filmed their store in Tsukiji and also had the chance to interview President Yamazaki at their shop. Everyone was incredibly kind and supportive — we truly couldn’t have done it without their cooperation.
With that, our four-day shoot comes to an end.
A huge thank you to our amazing crew for this production — cinematographer Takei-san and sound recordist Kuroki-san. Your work was outstanding. Let’s go on another shoot together soon!

It’s a new year (well… already February 😅), and I’ve decided to start something new.

From this year on, I’ll be sharing monthly recap posts about my work as a Tokyo-based Fixer in Japan — a look behind the scenes of filming, documentary production, and pre-production.

For the very first post, I’m not writing about an exciting shoot —
but about something just as important: research.

Recently, I started using my local library in Meguro as a research base, and honestly… my productivity has gone through the roof.

Quiet space. Free Wi-Fi. Power outlets. No distractions.
Pre-production heaven.

If you’re working in filming, production, or even just need a focused space — I highly recommend giving your local library a try.
