Something I didn’t think I’d enjoy as much as I did while in Tokyo was visiting the numerous music/guitar stores. One store in Ginza even had a Godzilla guitar which was super cool. You can find super unique things like music themed gatchapon, anime guitar picks, anime music books and more. For the dedicated guitar aficionado I recommend hitting up Ochanomizu guitar street. You’ll find store after store of guitars. One of the Book Off stores in Kichijoji also has Book Off Studio where you can try out the guitars or other instruments in a sound proof room, very cool 🎸

One last Fuji photo dump. I have so many beautiful pictures I took of Fuji with different filters etc but I may be doing something fun with them in future so to avoid theft of our images I’m only posting a couple I’m happy to share. These pics are from the Mt. Fuji Panoramic ropeway area. Definitely recommend going up the ropeway but as I say in our YouTube video it gets extremely busy and the ropeway carts get very crowded so if you are a bit claustrophobic it may not be for you. The views once you get up top are great though. Theres a swing photo spot (you need to pay and it has a time limit) and a platform right up the top (free) which has a camera there you can use to take a photo and use the QR code to view your picture. The wait to get up and especially back down from the ropeway is lengthy but I think worth the wait. Don’t forget to go into the souvenir shop if you’re after the shrines goshuin or ema boards. Next time I’m definitely doing the swan boats.

Lake Kawaguchiko and Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine ⛩️❤️
If you’re after somewhere to get views of Fuji then hiring a car and driving around Lake Kawaguchiko is highly recommended. You can go at your own pace, stop when and where ever you want and stumble across beautiful hidden spots with little to no tourists. Though we did find the Lake Kawaguchiko tourist centre area had beautiful views of Fuji with the lake we also found it too touristy and crowded with tour buses. After moving on we were pleasantly surprised when we visited Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine that we literally only saw a handful of people. It was quiet, stunningly beautiful and perfect for a nice stroll around the grounds to feel the history. They had some unique amulets too, the Momiji one was my favourite. There have been Japanese dramas filmed on the grounds here too. Can’t recommend a visit here enough. Check out our YouTube channel for our day out at Lake Kawaguchiko to see more.

Hotel Mystays Fuji Onsen Resort “Fuji view” (standard twin room). We had some issues our first night with our room clearly not having been cleaned (I’ll spare you the gross images) with weird dirty marks to put it politely, all over the walls but staff were accommodating and switched rooms for us to a Fuji view room. We actually weren’t fussed about a room with a view as we were going to be out exploring most of the time anyway but it was still nice. We were just happy to have a clean room. Staff were also apologetic when we checked out. Besides the mishap it’s a great hotel and perfect location with Fuji-Q highland right at its doorstep and plenty of family restaurants within walking distance. Not sure what happened with our first room but they definitely fixed the situation and we would stay again. Never be afraid to speak up if things aren’t satisfactory.
