Did some work for a client and he thinks I’m ripping him off… what do you think?
Did a side job for a friend, told him I would work with another person for $35 an hour each. This is Washington State, and I have experience. This is a 2500 sq foot house. He wanted us to paint his kitchen cabinets 2 tone, white on top, black for the bottoms, the trim was brown and the door frame to the pantry was brown so they wanted that painted white, they wanted all the hardware for the cabinets spray painted gold. And we had to hook up all the appliances for them.They wanted 350 sq feet of carpet torn out and matching LVP reinstalled which we ended up having to put underlayment to bring the floors up to match the existing, repaint and reshoot the trim. They wanted custom Victorian style frames built on 3 walls, 2 walls were on a pony wall they wanted painted white, the rest of the downstairs and the stairway to upstairs they wanted green and the stairs were carpet. They wanted 9 doors replaced that had to be cut to size, jigged, hole sawed, painted and new hardware put on. They wanted their whole upstairs painted pink, their master bath trim all painted white plus closets. They wanted glass bifold barn doors installed. Also, there were 4 windows that had sills and trim brown that they wanted white. Also, to note, they wanted the whole interiors of their cabinets painted as well. Also wanted the hand rail going upstairs to be painted peppercorn, and the downstairs bathroom was disassembled and painted as well. Also put 28 sq ft of LVP in their laundry room which I had to unhook, tear out trim, install floors, caulk the edges, paint the trim, and reinstall along with a transition piece. And wanted 3 new light fixtures replaced with different style fixtures. It’s a 2500 sq foot, two story house, 2 living rooms, 3 bed, 3 bath. Took us 3 weeks for 2 guys and costed $9500 in labor. What you think? I got in an argument with him at the end and forgot to take the rest of the pictures unfortunately.
