Hi, we’re the Aarons.

A family of 5 (soon to be 6) choosing to live, learn, and grow a little differently.

We’re currently worldschooling—traveling full-time, homeschooling our children, and building a life rooted in intentional living, emotional wellness, and real-world learning.

Over the past year, we’ve:
• Traveled 16,000+ miles
• Lived across the U.S., Canada, and Japan
• Celebrated birthdays, navigated challenges, and learned far beyond a classroom

I’m Fightress (Monyetta)—a licensed mental health therapist, entrepreneur, and mom. My husband Marcus is our navigator, steady presence, and explorer at heart.

Together, we’re raising:
• Curious thinkers
• Confident learners
• Kids who understand the world beyond one perspective

This space is where we share the real side of worldschooling—
not just the highlights, but the growth, the challenges, the lessons, and the moments in between.

You can expect:
• Travel + worldschooling reflections
• Parenting + mental wellness
• Honest conversations about life, identity, and growth
• And what it looks like to build a life aligned with your values

We’re glad you’re here.
What worldschooling questions may we answer for you?!

Right now, we’re in a slower season—waiting on baby girl’s arrival and soaking up these final weeks as a family of five before everything shifts again.

At the same time, we’re planning our next adventures! This fall, we’ll be back worldschooling, exploring, and building a life that gives our kids more than just routine but adventure and culturally rich experiences.

We haven’t decided where we’re headed next yet… somewhere we can stay 6–12 months, feel safe, live well, and keep learning together.

If you could pick one place in the world to live for 6–12 months, where would it be?

See you later Canada 🇨🇦—we are closing out a chapter that began in June 2025.

9 months ago, we packed up our minivan in Alabama and started driving. Since then, we’ve traveled across 6 U.S. states, 5 Canadian provinces, 2 countries, and spent 2 months in Japan.

In total: 16,000+ miles
(6,500+ driven | ~10,000 flown)

What started as a road trip became something much deeper—a lived geography lesson, cultural immersion, and a redefinition of learning.

Our worldschooling journey began in February 2025 in Portugal, where we spent 9 weeks immersed in a different way of living and learning. After returning to Alabama and taking two months to rest, we felt the pull to keep going—so we did.

We celebrated all three of our kids’ birthdays in Canada, crossed the Pacific to Japan, and returned to Calgary to rest, reset, and handle real-life logistics (license plate expired while we were in Japan).

Now we’re on the move again—heading home to prepare for the arrival of Baby Aaron 4

Calgary, Alberta → Regina, Saskatchewan → Fargo, North Dakota → Sioux Falls, South Dakota → Kansas City, Missouri → St. Louis, Missouri → Nashville, Tennessee → Pike Road, Alabama

And somewhere along the way… life shifted.

I started this journey not pregnant. Still grieving a miscarriage that really rocked our family.
Now I’m traveling 30 weeks pregnant. 🌈🤰🏽

That alone has changed everything—
the pace, the priorities, the need for rest and grace.

And that’s part of the lesson too.

The kids are learning geography and culture—but also how to adapt, regulate, and move through change in real time.

After nine months, what stands out most isn’t just where we’ve been.

It’s who we’re becoming.

More free—in how we live, learn, and move through the world.

And we’re still learning—trusting the process, embracing the unknown, and choosing a life that reflects what truly matters to us.

Meet Our Worldschooling Dad - Marcus—dad, navigator, and explorer at heart.

Marcus is the one charting our routes through new places, figuring out transit systems, and handling logistics with steady focus. He’s also the muscle behind the scenes—carrying luggage, managing gear, or shouldering a tired child when the day runs long. His presence allows everything else to flow.

On busy, chaotic days, Marcus brings calm and balance. He grounds all of us, helping the kids—and us—regulate when things feel overwhelming. His steadiness creates the foundation that makes exploration possible.

As a father, Marcus leads with patience and curiosity. He encourages learning through experience, asking thoughtful questions and helping the kids make sense of the world as it unfolds around them.

Marcus is also a lifelong learner, currently pursuing his PhD, modeling for our kids that growth and learning don’t stop—they deepen. He embodies what it means to stay curious, adaptable, and open to discovery.

At his core, Marcus is an explorer—drawn to new places, new ideas, and new ways of understanding the world. Worldschooling simply gives him space to live that out alongside our family.

Our last week in Osaka has been a mix of excitement, reflection, and gratitude.

One of our final adventures was spending the week at Universal Studios Japan, where the kids bounced between worlds they’ve only seen in movies and games. Watching their excitement in Super Nintendo World and experiencing the magic of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was such a fun way to close out this chapter. Walking through Hogsmeade, seeing Hogwarts Castle in person, and soaking in the details reminded me how powerful storytelling can be when it’s brought to life.

Over the past 9 weeks in Japan, we’ve slowed down enough to notice things we might have missed if we rushed through: the quiet respect in shared spaces, and the way history and modern life coexist so seamlessly. From Osaka Castle and Kids Plaza to neighborhood parks and local restaurants, Japan has given us countless moments of learning that didn’t come from a textbook.

Worldschooling here meant more than visiting landmarks. It meant learning patience across language barriers, adapting to unfamiliar systems, and letting curiosity guide our days.

Traveling while 6½ months pregnant has added another layer to the journey. Some days were slower. Some days required more rest and grace. But I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve been able to push through and experience this with our family, even when my body reminded me to take it one step at a time.

We had originally planned to travel to Okinawa next, but given the current tensions surrounding the war involving Iran, we decided it wasn’t the best time for our family to continue those plans. Travel teaches you to stay flexible—and sometimes the lesson is knowing when to adjust the path.

Instead, we’re taking time to reflect on everything these 9 weeks in Japan have given us: resilience, curiosity, patience, and a deeper appreciation for experiencing the world slowly.

Japan has challenged us, stretched us, and welcomed us.

And like every meaningful journey, it’s leaving us changed.

Thank you very much, Japan.

Over the last 10 months we have stayed in
10 homes / 16 Airbnbs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 5 hotels
We begin packing up 3 days prior to our travel day. Travel days arent as stressful because we have created a system & starting early is key! I’m thinking of purchasing 1 larger suitcase to consolidate two smaller suitcases so then each person (except Millie) has one bag to manage. Share you packing tips below!
Can you guess how many suitcases contain ONLY toys? 😬

It’s always a fun day at the Osaka Castle Park!

As we wrap up our final week in Osaka and head to Okinawa next week, I wanted to purchase a “souvenir” and this Pikachu suitcase is a perfect example of a practical souvenir that will remind us of our time in Tokyo & Osaka. It cost ¥18,000 or $114 USD And will serve us well as we continue on our next adventures! What’s was the last souvenir you bought to commemorate your trip?
