I was in Albania last year, hiking a section of the High Scardus Trail. Unlike the super-popular Peaks of the Balkans Trail we encountered less than a handful of hikers each day. There were gorgeous flower fields, genuinely warm and friendly people, and the food was yummy! If you look for a summer/ autumn destination to take you in the mountains, consider Albania and the HST!
