World Indie Films Take Center Stage at Kaminari Japan Film Festival 2025
To Be Held June 9 at Theatre Guild Daikanyama, Tokyo
The Kaminari Japan Film Festival 2025 will take place on Monday, June 9, starting at 3:30 PM at Theatre Guild Daikanyama in Tokyo. The event shines a spotlight on outstanding independent films from around the world.
This year, the festival received 252 submissions from 35 countries, and selected works will be screened across a wide range of categories including Music Video, Anything Goes, Eraserhead (Horror), Documentary (Short/Feature), and Narrative (Short/Feature).

- Sharing Aloha (Hawaii)
- Oxplant (Japan)
- Pieces of Central Park (USA)
- Alien Guy Tim (USA)
- MADO / 窓 (Japan)
The Awards Ceremony will begin at 8:30 PM, recognizing the best works in each category and celebrating the talents of emerging filmmakers. Video messages of encouragement from festival founder Mike Rogers and Raindance Film Festival founder and jury head Elliot Grove will also be presented.
