Batanes Little Cafe ü
The cafe itself is cozy, made even more interesting because it’s right by the beach. Gaganahan ka talagang umorder, the view alone already sets the mood.
Medyo crowded lang when we arrived, probably because it was already afternoon and people were waiting for the sunset. Still, it didn’t take away from the experience.
This place feels perfect for chilling, especially in the morning. Along the highway, with the sea in front of you, the view really makes you slow down and reconnect with yourself.
Their food menu isn’t that wide, but it’s enough to make you full, mostly silog meals and local Ivatan dishes.
For drinks, they have a lot of options: coffee, non-coffee, and even signature drinks.
Pastries? Yes, meron din.
Their bestseller, the Yema Cake, is perfect. A nice blend of yema, cheese, and fluffy chiffon cake.
What really caught my eye was the Ivatan Cake. It was introduced as spicy, so of course I was excited, new flavor unlocked. But hear me out: the cake itself isn’t spicy, it’s just full of flavors. You can taste the cinnamon and nutmeg, complemented by lemon. The texture isn’t dense, but not too foamy either may konting kagat. We even noticed a slight peppermint-ish flavor, though I’m not sure if that’s actually part of the cake.
Additionally, the café is pet-friendly. They have a lot of dogs roaming around and mind you, mababait sila. It adds to the homey and relaxed vibe.
The staff, including the owner herself, are very nice and accommodating, which makes the whole experience even better.
As for the price point, I’d say it’s justified. This is Batanes, an isolated place where ingredients need to be transported from Manila or nearby provinces. Fair enough for the price, kasi ganon din naman once you consider the logistics.
So if you happen to be in Batanes, slow down, drop by, and support local. 🤍☕🌊🐾 Batanes Little Cafe
