On January 7, 2025, a widespread and prolonged wildfire struck Los Angeles, drastically changing the lives of many residents. Among those who lost their homes and cherished possessions were artists and DJs who are part of our dublab community.
Nearly five months have passed since the disaster. While media coverage has declined both in Japan and locally, the affected individuals continue to face challenging circumstances.
Still, the Los Angeles community remains resilient and united, actively engaging in various recovery efforts. In particular, the music community centered around dublab is moving forward by supporting one another.
Full restoration of infrastructure will require substantial funding and long-term assistance. Disaster recovery is often likened not to a sprint, but to a marathon. We believe now is the time to consider sustainable forms of support through music.
As part of that effort, we have created a charity compilation album. This album features Japanese creators who have been influenced by Los Angeles’ musical culture, participating with deep respect and solidarity.
Packed with an astonishingly wide range of sounds, this project embodies the diverse and rich musical culture of Los Angeles. We hope that through music, you can help support the community that honors and continues this cultural legacy.
All proceeds from this album will be donated to the victims of the wildfire through dublab in Los Angeles.
