During the Nara Period, three stars fell on this land.
During the Nara Period, a sudden glow at night in this area caused the earth to shudder. The villagers, who felt uneasy because the top of Mt. Hoshigami was covered by clouds for 35 days and there were shining objects in the mountain, called an yin-yang master to tell their fortunes, and he told them that three stars had fallen from the heavens. The villagers were told that if they worshipped the three stars, the land would prosper, and they built a shrine to worship the three stars.

I have visited many shrines and temples, but this one was exceptional. It was bizarre or eerie. I climbed up the long staircase as if I was being sucked into something mysterious.
