The Big K and I love to travel. We love seeing new places, sometimes re-visiting favorites. We always look forward to trying out different local cuisines, even if it means not eating for a month before and after a trip to compensate for the weight we definitely will be gaining. We love meeting new people and making friends. We love lea

rning different cultures and how they make the people we meet so much interesting. We started this blog to share our travel and food adventures. And for us to reminisce all the wonderful memories when we're old and gray.......

And now we’re off to one of the highlights of the Camino Portugues spiritual variant, a walk in a lush-green forest with a river flowing through moss-covered rocks and abandoned water mills. La Ruta de a Pedra e da Auga (route of stone and water) was like walking through an enchanted forest. A place where you’d expect to meet fairies and magical creatures…..

Spending the night in the pretty seaside village of Combarro was a wise decision as today’s walk was proving to be a challenge for us newbie hikers. It was pretty much uphill all the way.

All bundled up for the cold and raring to go, it was still dark when we left the hotel at 7AM. It was a bit of a challenge getting out of Vigo as our gps kept directing us to a different route and the yellow camino arrow signs were far in between.

After a few wrong turns and detours, we finally made our way on the camino trail.
The path took us through rural settings, a magnificent view of the Vigo estuary and along the peaceful nature trail of the Senda del Agua (water trail).

An 8.5-km ridgeline trail in Hong Kong, the Dragon’s Back Hike offers stunning ocean views, moderate hill climbs and descents. We hiked the trail in preparation for our Kumano Kodo in Japan and the Camino de Invierno in Spain.
