When the ones tasked with the responsiblility of protecting the law and the citizens are the perpetrators, drug dealers, and criminals. This is our fight, a fight for a drug free society.
If reports that an Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) personnel was caught with narcotics in B**g County today are confirmed, this incident should be treated with the seriousness it deserves.
Drug trafficking and abuse have no place in our security institutions or society. The law must apply equally to everyone, regardless of rank, uniform, position, or connections.
We call on the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) to thoroughly investigate the matter and strengthen its commitment to fighting illicit drugs across Liberia. Enforcement must be professional, transparent, and consistent.
There should be no selective justice. If the evidence establishes wrongdoing, the appropriate legal process should follow—whether the accused is a soldier, government official, businessperson, or ordinary citizen.
The fight against drugs cannot be credible if the law is applied differently depending on who is involved.
No protection for drug crimes. No selective justice. One law for everyone.
