This recovering late sleeper’s diary of finally chasing the sun 🌞

August felt monumental. I finally sustained a morning routine I actually love.

I’d tried it all… cooking first, walking the neighborhood, meditating. Nothing stuck, and on bad days I’d doomscroll the morning away.

With so many “shoulds” this season, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. So this time I did something different: I made JOY my anchor 🙂

For me, that’s flowers and plants 🌱🌼. My only other rule was that it had to be EASY, something I can do in any season.

From there it grew: a garage turning into a cozy cafe corner, slow meals outside, a sunflower farm, fireworks to close the month.

On my healing journey I kept hearing about circadian rhythm, how our bodies are wired to follow the sun. So what better season to chase the sun than summer? ☀️

I was surprised, looking back at my GCal, at how busy and packed my August was. And yet my nervous system was the calmest it’s been in months.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I got more sunlight and started feeling this way 😉

A (not so) little practice moving (not so) little things.

I still have daydreams I’m too shy to share.

You dream big, but you want a soft life too 🍃

Most days it’s still very much a challenge finding “balance.” But after swinging hard toward both the hustle life and the soft life, I feel like I’m in a season where I can finally acknowledge that there’s space for both.

I can be ambitious and still want slow mornings.
I can run meetings while prepping homecooked meals.
I can talk about brand strategies and also create silent vlogs.
I can build something meaningful without making my whole life about building.

Maybe the goal was never to choose between ambition and softness, but to figure out how they can exist together.

I think we found our thing 🏕️

We’ve had this tent for two years and only just used it. First camping trip ever, and definitely not our last.

Japan has a strong camping culture, and the best part is you don’t even need a car. 📍Hikawa Camp Site is a 3-minute walk from the station, and Okutama is only 1.5 hours from Shibuya.

Still can’t believe a proper nature trip is this easy from the city. And we plan to maximize this more for our detox weekends 😌
