The U.S. Government has entered a lapse in appropriations, commonly referred to as a “government shutdown”. Below is the current status of installation services. Operations may change with limited notice, so please verify with the office before visiting.
Operating Normally (no changes at this time):
- Emergency Services: Fire, Medical, Security, and Emergency Dispatch
- Commodore Matthew C. Perry General Mess
- Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR)
- Child & Youth Programs (CYP)
- Safety Driver’s Licensing Office
- Security Vehicle Registration Office
- Visitor Control Center (VCC)
- Chapel of Hope
- Admin Dependent Entry Approval
Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) - Modified Operations:
- FFSC Counseling, Advocacy & Prevention (CAP): Non-medical counseling unavailable. For counseling services during this period, please visit or call U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka.
- FFSC Family Advocacy Program (FAP): No changes.
- FFSC Work & Family Life (WFL): No changes (AOB/ICR, résumé support, financial services, information & referral, EFMP).
- FFSC Transition Assistance Program (TAP): Offerings scheduled for the week of 6 Oct are canceled. If you were scheduled, please contact the FFSC front desk at 243-3372 for assistance.
- FFSC Sexual Assault Prevention & Response (SAPR): No changes.
- FFSC Ikego Satellite Office: Closed until further notice.

USO Yokosuka: Report no current changes to services
American Red Cross (Yokosuka): Report no current changes to services.
Yokosuka NEX: Report no current changes to services.
U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka: Report no current changes to service.
DoDEA Schools: Per DoDEA, schools remain open for normal operations. Sports and extracurricular activities (including practices) are paused during the shutdown. For school-specific information, please check your school’s official page.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) – Yokosuka: Office remains open and ready to assist with emergency financial needs (e.g., food, gas, utilities).
