MAN TAKEN TO COURT FOR THREATENING TO BEAT HIS MOTHER EVERYDAY OVER MOBILE DATA

A man who vowed to beat his mother everyday after a conflict over mobile data has been charged with creating a disturbance.

Carvin Biko Olilo was arraigned before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Monica Maroro on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to the charges.

He is said to have committed the offence on May 28 at 4.30 am at the Otiende area in Lang’ata sub-county within Nairobi County.

According to court prosecutor Dennis Muindi, the accused sneaked into his mother’s bedroom on the fateful day and demanded mobile data.

The court heard that the mother attempted to beg his seemingly agitated son to wait until dawn so that she can give him money for the data but he could not listen.

It is then that Olilo is said to have grabbed a stool and threatened to hit the mother Dorothy Amino with it on the head.

The mother eventually bowed to pressure and opted to give him some money which he took and threatened to beat her up every day once he is done with his studies.

“He promised his mother that he will be beating her up every evening after finishing his studies,” the court heard.

The mother reported the matter to the police and the accused person was arrested and arraigned.

'I WILL SMOKE BHANG DURING OUR SWEARING-IN', WAJAKOYAH'S RUNNING-MATE SAYS

Justina Wangui Wamae, the running mate for Presidential aspirant George Wajackoyah, has claimed that she will take her first puff of bhang on their inauguration day if they secure victory in the August elections.

The duo, under the Roots Party, have promised to legalize ma*****na, an incentive they believe will spur Kenya's economic recovery.

Wamae, 35, says despite having never smoked w**d, she is willing to smoke in celebration when they clinch the presidential seat.

“I have never puffed bhang but one thing I can assure you, I have even asked for permission from my husband, the moment we win, during inauguration, tutapuff, kishash (bhang) lazima kiwashwe. But its only for that day," she said in a media interview.

The procurement expert further disclosed that she was attracted to Wajackoyah's ideologies on his presidential aspiration and, most importantly, that he is supportive of women's inclusivity in leadership.

“I had never met Professor before, but I really liked his ideologies, and he seems to positively think about the youth and women leadership, other parties are going for much older people," she said.

"The fact that the idea was practical, a real idea, it really compelled me to support it."

Wamae graduated from Daystar University with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

She first came to the limelight during the 2017 elections, when she unsuccessfully contested for the Mavoko parliamentary seat.

Wambui has stated that she believes the bhang business will stimulate the ailing economy and harness an economic revolution, similar to Wajackoyah who has promised to legalize ma*****na if he wins the country's top seat.

Wajackoyah, 62, rose to prominence after announcing his presidential manifesto agenda, which includes appointing eight prime ministers, suspending the constitution for six months, and i
