Best Western Kenya – The Best of Busia

Former Busia County Woman Representative and UDA Women League Member Florence Waingah Mutua has officially declared her interest in contesting for the Busia County Deputy Gubernatorial seat in 2027, to feature alongside Arthur Amug Osia.

Mutua strongly believes that “the time has come for Busia to have a woman deputy governor”, saying that for too long, the leadership dominated by men — including the current Deputy Governor Arthur Odera and others before him — has crippled the county through corruption and misuse of funds.

As the people of Busia County and Western Kenya, is it now the right time to elect a woman into this position of power? Should the governor be a man and the deputy a woman, bringing true balance in leadership?
