So, now that we’re done crying and pouring out emotions, i have this to say.
Of course, back-to-back Premier League losses are excruciatingly painful, but let’s look at the bigger picture.
Enzo Maresca’s philosophy and amazing football haven’t changed one bit. What we saw in the past few days was his weakness..... inability to handle red cards.
Look at the game against Manchester United. We picked up a red card in the 4th minute and things went bad.
But once United also got their red card, we ripped them apart and they barely touched the ball. They were just lucky that, by that point, all our attackers had been subbed off except Pedro.
Against Brighton, Maresca’s football was in full flow until the red card. We were all over them, created big chances, and forced them to struggle for possession. It was only after the red card that they registered a shot on target. That showed how well we played.
Our next game is against Liverpool at home.
Normally, I’d beat my chest and say we’re not losing that game.
But Chalobah’s absence makes me reconsider, because it will be tough to defend Isak and Ekitike with inexperienced centre-backs.
Our system of football isn’t faulty at all. The coach is still spot on, and while he’s not perfect, he will learn how to manage games with red cards.
Since February this year, we've only lost 4 EPL games.. 3 of those games, we suffered a red card. I hope you see the pattern? Does this mean the coach has failed? No!! Which means without those red cards, we probably wouldn't have lost those games
Enzo Maresca will definitely learn... Stop all these Sack Maresca rant.. it's farfetched and childish, and also makes you appear like a clown.
That said.....
Whenever the system becomes faulty, I’ll be the first to raise the alarm, because Chelsea always comes first, even though I back the coach every day.
Believe me, we’ll bounce back.
Especially if we find a quick solution to our dreadful backline.
We will be back!
