*UPDATE* : Justice Eric Ogola adjourns the court hearing of Impeachment of Gachagua after a challenge passed on unconstitutionality of the bench.

Gachagua lawyers questioned DCJ Philomena Mwilu for appointing a three-judge bench without Chief Justice Martha Koome's consent.

The Court session to resume at 2pm to hear applications.

â–  Impeached DP Gachagua's Staff Barred from Accessing their Offices at Harambee Annex and Karen residence this morning!

This follows a move by the government to send on compulsory leave some 108 officials who had been working at the offices.

Security at the offices told the staff to stay away and wait for further communication.

â–  The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) is demanding additional benefits specifically tailored to the teaching profession, citing the strenuous nature of their work.

Ronald Tonui, KUPPET’s Assistant Treasurer, argues that while other professions receive allowances for strenuous duties, teachers deserve the same recognition. He stated that this demand must feature prominently in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) they plan to sign with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) next year.

Tonui encouraged union members to come forward with additional proposals for the new CBA currently in development. He also indicated that KUPPET will advocate for a “detoxification allowance” specifically for science teachers due to their frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals during practical lessons.

Tonui made these remarks during the KUPPET Siaya branch Annual General Meeting in Siaya town.

The Bill that was being signed into law today was fought for by Raila Odinga. It is him and his supporters who went on the streets, were tear-gassed, bludgeoned and killed.

It is Raila Odinga who stood up to President Ruto at a time the country and the world still entertained Chebukati as a hero and condemned the Cherera Four.

Today, some fools who weren’t even following politics last year at this time are now castigating Raila Odinga for being present on the lawns of KICC to witness the signing of that Bill into law.

Raila’s supporters died for that Bill to become law.

After the conclusion of 2022 General Elections Baba and his Azimio brigades went to the streets on demands for inclusion in Government ; “they” conceded . A national dialogue committee NADCO was formed and held the national dialogue sessions live on camera where Kenyans presented their opinions and suggestions .

Baba backed down; relaxed and waited , it’s now over a year; the report was neither Debated nor adopted in parliament ,it’s gathering dust in the shelves .( no wonder we are yet to constitute IEBC)

Then came Gen Zs in the struggle they aroused a national economic concern amidst protests. “They” again conceded and are planning to form a new Multisectoral committee. Allow me to call it NADCO 2.
I can attest to this ;
Any committee reports which requires action of Kenyan parliament are as a dead as a dodo !
What happened to the report of Fake fertilizer? From my experience I can conclusively say that
Parliament is heavily patronized, desecrated , defiled and lost credibility of majority of Kenyans.What do expect from a parliament which sneaks an agenda without going through the House business committee as per the standing order?

Multisectoral committee will be another theatric to buy time and scatter the already compounding voice of the disappointed youth of Kenya . It’s my opinion that this will be another round of pounding water in a pot . No matter what energy is inputted, no Ugali can come out of it .

To the Gen Zs , this is your constitutional moment , those of us before you do agree ,we were deceived, subdued and lost it ;a reason why Systems aren’t functioning right now in your favour, no wonder you are up and about greeting us in your absurd styles. My advice is ,Seize it and press for change .We are looking up to you from a far .
