When his story came to light around 2022, amidst the onset of COVID-19, a relative of Nicodemus Emus Lochok reached out to us, informing us of the tribulations their kin is experiencing in the United States, which have left him destitute and homeless.
One of our correspondents managed to obtain contact details for Emus to facilitate clarification on the matter. The information provided at that time was limited, perhaps he was in denial. However, one detail we managed to ascertain was his contentious separation from his wife, Rennee Emus, whom he married around 2019.
The woman, believed to be on a church mission in Turkana, reportedly fell in love with Emus, a Turkwel Boys alumnus of the class of 2015. Subsequently, she facilitated the processing of his passport, and they migrated to the United States.
The two partners have two children. In the early stages of their relationship, they appeared to be consistently happy, but in 2022, Emus announced on his Facebook account that they had separated, and that his wife had paid for counseling services in an attempt to reconcile.
As of 2026, news regarding Nicodemus Emus's deplorable state has resurfaced.
His condition as a homeless individual urgently requires attention, particularly from Kenya and the Turkana community.
Any assistance provided to him would contribute significantly to the possibility of reuniting him with his family.
