It’s not just about saving data…

If you are among the 53,000 students who missed the KUCCPS application window or were not placed in any of your course choices, this is your final chance.

We reached out to KUCCPS to ask about your options, and the feedback is encouraging.

Here’s what you need to do:

If you did not apply, revise, or secure placement for degree programmes during their application year ( from 2000 to 2024 ) , you can still request late placement by sending an email to [email protected]

Make sure your email includes the following details for faster processing:

1️⃣ Full name
2️⃣ KCSE year and index number
3️⃣ Phone number
4️⃣ Email address
5️⃣ Reason for late application

And any other relevant documentation to support your request. Once an email is sent, you will get a response within 3 days!

♦️inter-institution transfer is the recommended process rather than interfaculty transfer (changing only the course once one joins.)-will explain more about the inter-faculty transfer.

♦️Transfer is usually processed within 2 weeks (some will take less than 5 days)

♦️Once a transfer is declined, one can re-do the transfer for free.

♦️You only have one short at this - once you choose an institution and a course and it is declined, You CANNOT do the course in that specific institution, you will have to choose another institution!

This calls for being MORE CAREFUL while doing the transfers.

♦️inter-institution transfer does not affect HELB. Since its online through the KUCCPS Portal, once the transfer is successful, the institution details will AUTOMATICALLY reflect in for HELB Applications.

HELB Applications Are Currently Ongoing

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has introduced a structured support system that categorizes students based on their family background. This determines both the percentage of fees to be paid and the amount of HELB loan awarded per semester.

Fee Payment Categories:

Vulnerable – Pay only 5% of total fees

Extremely Needy – Pay 10% of total fees

Very Needy – Pay 20% of total fees

Needy – Pay 30% of total fees

Less Needy – Pay 40% of total fees

HELB Student upkeep Amount per Semester:
Vulnerable – Receive Ksh 30,000 upkeep

Extremely Needy – Receive Ksh 27,500 upkeep

Very Needy – Receive Ksh 25,000 upkeep

Needy – Receive Ksh 22,500 upkeep

Less Needy – Receive Ksh 20,000 upkeep

Kindly note: HELB applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The earlier you apply, the sooner your loan processing begins.
