for 'Business and Hustler Opportunities' headed by CEC Trade Dr. Anastasia Nyalita Anastasia Nyalita held a consultative meeting today with the leadership of the hawkers' associations and key stakeholders at Green Park.
The discussions centred on embracing the county's vision of transforming Nairobi into Africa’s first modern, globally competitive city. The hawkers' leadership fully supported the directive, recognizing its importance in enhancing urban management while ensuring sustainable business operations. The meeting further explored strategies to create an environment that prioritizes "security, cleanliness, and ease of accessibility" in the city, alongside developing well-organized trading zones to support micro-entrepreneurs.
This engagement reaffirms the county’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, innovation, and economic empowerment. By striking a balance between orderly city planning and empowering the informal sector, the government seeks to position Nairobi as a model city for smart, people-centric urban development.
