Four months ago, I shared a video of one of the most exhausting seasons of my teaching journey. Every day, I travelled long distances on dusty roads just to reach my learners. Some days I came home completely drained, wondering whether all the sacrifice was truly worth it.
But deep inside, I knew I had a responsibility beyond the fatigue — to show up for my learners and give them my very best.
One evening after returning home exhausted, I found that one of my sheep had given birth to a beautiful lamb. That small moment somehow refreshed my spirit and reminded me that even after hard seasons, something beautiful can still be born.
Today, looking back, I can proudly say the struggle was not in vain. My learners attained a mean score of 7.1, I was later nominated by the Wajibika Awards as one of the exemplary teachers, and I have now been transferred to a school nearer home.
This journey has taught me that sometimes the road is rough not because you are lost, but because you are carrying something important.
If you haven’t watched the beginning of this journey, I’ll share the link to the original video below. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in me along the way.https://youtu.be/3zuqmoQ3LSQ
