🚨𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦!

The FKF Division Two league has been discarded and there will be no such league from next season!

This is in a new Football Kenya Federation restructuring that will see Kenya have a five -tier system.

As per the new plan, this is how the system will look like.

1. Kenya Premier League
2. National Super League
3. Division One (split into four zones)
4. Regional League
5. County and Subcounty Leagues

Importantly, the subcounty leagues will now be reserved for the Under-17 as the new system seeks to focus on youth football development.

It is said that the restructuring is meant to streamline football while creating a clear pathway for talent progression.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed incidents of alleged harassment and physical assault on match officials during games played on Sunday, 12th January 2025. The incidents were reported during the National Super League match between 3K FC and Kibera Blackstars FC at Moi Stadium, Embu, and the Division One clash between Compel FC and GFE 105 FC at Ilala Stadium, Webuye.

According to FKF, detailed reports from the referees' department have been received, and the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee (LCC) is engaging the involved clubs for their responses. The committee, in collaboration with the FKF Competitions Manager, is expected to convene on Thursday to deliberate on the matter and announce appropriate measures.

The Federation has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding match officials and promoting integrity in the sport. FKF condemned any form of violence or intimidation against referees, emphasizing that such actions are unacceptable. A detailed statement with the committee's findings and resolutions will be issued following the meeting.

St. Luke’s Lumakanda Boys has recorded a notable improvement in the 2024 KCSE examinations, achieving a mean score of 4.82, a rise from 4.201 in 2023. This represents a positive deviation of 0.619 points, reflecting the school’s commitment to academic growth. Out of the 100 candidates who sat for the exam, 19 students scored C+ and above, translating to a university entry rate of 19.19%, up from 14.86% the previous year.

The grade distribution highlights steady performance across the board. While no student attained an A or A-, one candidate scored a B+, and three secured a B plain. Six students earned a B-, with nine achieving a C+ and eight obtaining a C plain. Lower grades included 10 C-, 20 D+, 21 D plain, and 20 D-. One candidate scored an E, while another was ungraded. Despite these challenges, the upward trend is a testament to the hard work and resilience of both students and teachers.

Archbishop Njenga Girls High School has posted a mean score of 6.6182 in the 2024 KCSE examinations, reflecting a marginal drop of 0.0885 points from the previous year. Despite this decline, the school recorded an increase in university admissions, with 177 out of 351 candidates qualifying for higher education in 2024, up from 159 out of 300 in 2023. This remarkable achievement underscores the school’s dedication to academic excellence and continuous improvement.

In terms of grade distribution, three candidates scored an A-, nine earned a B+, and 62 attained a B plain. Furthermore, 59 students achieved a B-, while 54 and 96 candidates scored a C+ and a C plain, respectively. Lower grades included 60 C-, 18 D+, and two D plain, with no candidate scoring a D- or an E. This performance showcases the hard work of both students and staff in maintaining the school’s academic standards.

Turbo Sub-County schools performed admirably in the 2024 KCSE, with Turbo Girls taking the top spot with a mean score of 7.7555, showing a slight improvement from 7.5343 in 2023. Turbo Magnet followed closely with a significant increase to 7.6970, up from 6.1875. Turbo School secured third place with a mean score of 7.6023, marking a rise from 6.3784. Paul Boit Boys and Kamagut High School rounded out the top five, scoring 7.5554 and 6.8317, respectively. Kamagut High registered the most notable improvement with a positive deviation of 2.1476 from its previous performance. On the other hand, schools like Sugoi Mixed and Kapchumba Secondary experienced a decline in their mean scores. The rankings highlight both the successes and areas for growth across Turbo Sub-County schools, emphasizing their collective commitment to academic excellence.

Maturu Taifa Stars are mourning the loss of their head coach, Joash Mtali, who passed away earlier this month. Coach Mtali was a dedicated mentor and a key figure in nurturing football talent within the community. His burial is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Alliance High School, a top national school in Kenya, emerged as the best school in the 2024 KCSE examinations, solidifying its reputation for academic excellence. The school registered 452 candidates, achieving an impressive mean score of 10.31 (A-), which marked a significant improvement of +0.714 from the 2023 mean score of 9.591.

Out of the 452 candidates, 433 students attained the minimum university entry grade of C+ and above, translating to a remarkable university transition rate of 95.8%. The grade distribution reflects the institution's stellar performance: 100 students scored an A, 134 scored A-, 107 scored B+, 62 scored B, 27 scored B-, 12 scored C+, 6 scored C, and 4 scored C-. Our Lady of Lourdes Turbo Girls High School recorded a mean score of 7.755 (B-) in the KCSE 2024 provisional results, reflecting an improvement of +0.221 from 2023. Out of the 364 candidates who sat for the exams, 309 attained the university entry grade of C+ and above, representing 84.89% of the cohort.

The grade distribution for 2024 includes 1 A, 2 A-, 21 B+, 73 B, 118 B-, 94 C+, 46 C, 8 C-, 1 D+, and no grades below D+. This marks a consistent progression in academic performance compared to 2023.
