Three thieves who stole livestock in Kianjokoma and Karatina arrested.
Detectives have arrested three suspects believed to be behind a cross-county stock theft syndicate operating in Embu and Kirinyaga.
The operation began with the arrest of Alex Mwangi and Anthony Macharia in Embu, where officers impounded a Toyota Sienta, the vehicle allegedly used to ferry stolen animals under the cover of darkness.
The dragnet then extended to Kerugoya town, where detectives apprehended Mercy Nyaguthi Njiru, the receiver of stolen livestock.
A search of her premises led to the recovery of a heifer suspected to have been stolen from Kianjokoma, a Friesian cow believed to have been stolen from Karatina, ten goats, five kids, and one sheep.
All three suspects are currently in custody, undergoing processing, pending arraignment.
