*Mama Simba’s Humanity*
Hon. Alice Nganga, “Mama Simba,” carries the name for more than politics. The lioness protects her pride, and that’s how she leads Thika Town.
Her humanity shows in the small things that don’t make it to headlines: sitting with a widow to understand why her child dropped out of school, following up personally when a mother is told “dawa hakuna” at the hospital, and showing up at funerals and harambees without being called. She listens first, then acts.
What sets her apart is that she doesn’t treat constituents like case files. She remembers names, follows up, and makes sure help reaches the person, not just the office. That mix of firmness and care is why people call her “Mama.” She’s tough when it comes to fighting for resources, but soft where it matters—on the ground, with the people.
It’s that balance of strength and compassion that has made her trusted in Thika Town, and it’s what Kiambu needs at the county level.
