Recent reports indicate a significant breakthrough in China's satellite communication technology, with researchers achieving data speeds up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) using a 2-watt laser from a geostationary orbit. This is being reported as five times faster than Starlink's typical speeds, which usually range from 25 to 220 Mbps, with many users experiencing over 100 Mbps.
