✨ Sermon Title: Hope and a Future
📖 Main Text: Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
🕊 Introduction
Jeremiah delivered these words to God’s people while they were in exile in Babylon a season of disappointment, waiting, and uncertainty. They wondered if God had abandoned them. But through the prophet, the Lord reminded them: Your situation is not your destination. His plans had not changed, and His promises were still alive.
Today many of us face our own “exiles” job loss, delayed dreams, family struggles, or personal battles. Jeremiah 29:11 speaks to us too: God’s plans are filled with hope and a secure future even when our present looks dark.
💡 Key Points
1️⃣ God’s Plans Are Always Good
His purposes flow from His character of love (1 John 4:8).
Even when life feels chaotic, His plan is for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28).
What seems like a setback can be a setup for His glory.
2️⃣ He Offers Hope Even in Exile or Waiting
Israel waited 70 years before returning home, yet God’s promise stood firm.
Our waiting seasons are not wasted; God works while we wait (Psalm 27:14).
Hope anchors the soul during uncertainty (Hebrews 6:19).
3️⃣ Trusting Him Brings Peace
Peace comes not from understanding every detail but from knowing the Planner (Isaiah 26:3).
When we surrender control, anxiety loses power (Philippians 4:6–7).
4️⃣ His Timing Is Perfect
God is never late; His timing aligns with His wisdom (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Delay is not denial—He prepares us and the circumstances.
5️⃣ Our Future Is Secure in Christ
In Jesus, every promise finds its “Yes” and “Amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20).
Eternal life is the ultimate future and hope (John 10:28).
No one can sn**ch us from His hand; our destiny is safe with Him.
🙏 Prayer
“Father, thank You for knowing the plans You have for us. Teach us to trust Your timing, rest in Your peace, and live with confident hope. Guide our steps into the future You have prepared. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
