Hon.Chachu Ganya has come out to strongly deny claims that he’s pulled out of the 2027 Marsabit governor race.
Speaking on Wednesday, Ganya dismissed the rumours as political noise meant to mislead the public.
“I haven’t stepped down. I haven’t changed my mind. I’m still in the race,” he said. “These rumours are coming from people who are clearly uncomfortable with my presence.”
Ganya, who represented North Horr for three terms, said his team is fully focused on the 2027 campaign and confirmed he’ll be running on a party that works with the current government. According to him, working closely with the national administration is the only way to bring real development to the county.
He criticised leaders pushing propaganda, saying it only diverts attention from issues that matter.
“People in Marsabit don’t care for petty politics. They want roads, water, jobs. That’s what we should be talking about,” he said.
To his supporters, Ganya had a brief message: “Ignore the noise. We’re just getting started.”
