An acre of pawpaw takes 1100 trees. Each tree gives at least 30kgs of fruit in a year. Each kg sells for at least 30 bob at the farm gate. The income potential of pawpaw is thus at least ksh900,000 per year. The productive lifespan of pawpaw is 3 years. And it takes about ksh150,000 to fully establish an acre of pawpaw.
