According to preliminary reports, Ms. Ngome disappeared from her matrimonial home under unclear circumstances. Her vehicle was discovered on Thursday morning parked near her ancestral home, with her clothes found inside.

Leaders from the opposition, led by Democracy for the Citizens party leader Rigathi Gachagua, have called on National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to explain what transpired during his meeting with the late Cyrus Jirongo just hours before the former minister’s death.

Speaking to the media on December 16 after visiting Jirongo’s Nairobi home, the leaders demanded full accountability and a swift investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

"Kenyans are asking, who were the last people to be seen with Cyrus Jirongo? Why are they quiet? Speaker Wetang'ula should have given a very good account of what his plans were and where he was going," Gachagua said.
