Season of the Time Media Productions-STMP is not just a name , it is a story of survival, resilience, and unshakable hope.
I still remember where we started.
We were learning in a refugee camp,outside the compound, without chairs, without a proper classroom, and without a blackboard. Yet in that impossible environment, we kept teaching refugee children. We kept learning. We kept believing that education could change everything.
Later, the team moved into a very small studio room. But inside that small space lived something far bigger than its walls , dreams, talent, and determination beyond imagination.
We worked with a broken-screen computer. A desktop without a hard drive. Every time the power went off, everything we had done that day disappeared ,hours of work gone in seconds. And every time electricity returned, we started again… from zero… without complaint.
It was hard. It was painful. It was stressful.
But we never gave up.
Because we were not just working , we were building a vision. A vision powered by hope, resilience, and the belief that our story could rise above our struggles.
Fidele Wabenga , who spent 13 years living in a refugee camp in Kakuma Kenya , has carried this journey deeply. For the past 10 years, he has been leading and directing Season of the Time Media Productions (STMP) with one mission: to empower refugee talent and give voice to the unheard.
Our team comes from far away, Every person carries a real story , stories of pain, survival, and hidden talent waiting to be seen.
STMP started as a small room office… but it carries millions of dreams and the voices of thousands of refugees who deserve to be seen, heard, and empowered.
We are not just telling a story. we are living it. And we are still rising.

There are moments in every community’s story when an idea begins to rise from imagination into reality—quietly at first, then with undeniable purpose. For us at Season of the Time Media Productions (STMP), that moment is now.

The STMP Learning Center is steadily coming to life. What was once a vision is taking physical form—brick by brick, effort by effort—carried by resilience, belief, and shared commitment.

This space is being created for the community, especially for children, young people, girls, and women who deserve access to opportunity, creativity, and growth. It will stand as a place where talents are discovered, skills are built, and confidence finds its voice.

But beyond its walls, the Learning Center represents something deeper: possibility. A possibility for transformation, for self-reliance, and for a future shaped by knowledge and creativity.

Every step of progress reflects not only construction, but collective hope in action. And none of this would be possible without the people who continue to stand with us, believe in us, and support this journey.

The clothes seen here are more than garments—they are a reflection of resilience and growth. Each woman designed, measured, cut, and sewed her own outfit, turning ideas into reality through skill and determination.

Just 9 months ago, many had never used a sewing machine. Today, they are confident and capable, building skills that will soon help them support their families and achieve independence.

This is more than training—it is dignity, empowerment, and real change.

Together with Mission and Movement, we are not just teaching tailoring; we are building futures and strengthening a community.

Today at the STMP Learning Center in Kakuma Refugee Camp, in partnership with Mission and Movement, the space is filled with hope and determination.

After learning how to measure and cut trousers yesterday, our women are now practicing and advancing their skills by making pockets. Each step is building their confidence and shaping their future.

Every stitch tells a story of courage. Despite the challenges they have faced, these women are gaining practical skills to support their families, become independent, and create new opportunities.

What started as a simple lesson is now a journey of growth, resilience, and transformation.

At STMP, we are not just teaching skills—we are nurturing leaders and building a stronger, more empowered community.

2026 Evolution: Women in Tailoring

This is what commitment looks like.
This is what progress feels like.

In 2026, our Women in Tailoring program has grown in a powerful way. Through patience, practice, and determination, these women can now confidently make school uniforms and everyday clothing on their own.

And honestly, this might be their favorite achievement so far.

Their children will no longer stand at the door asking,
“Mom, where is my school uniform?”

Because now the answer is simply,
“I’m making it.”

What once caused stress has turned into confidence. What once felt impossible is now a skill they carry with pride. These women are not only learning tailoring—they are building independence and securing a better future for their families.

We are deeply proud of their journey and the effort behind every stitch.

Kakuma is more than a refugee camp; it is a place of untapped potential and dreams waiting for opportunity.

Thousands of refugees here have fled conflict and violence, leaving behind their homes and livelihoods. They are resilient, skilled, and eager to learn, yet access to quality education and economic opportunities remains limited.

At the STMP Learning Center, we exist to bridge that gap.

We equip refugees with practical digital skills for the modern workforce and vocational training, with a strong focus on empowering women to become self-reliant and to support their families with dignity.

Through our partnership with Mission and Movement, and with the valuable support of Sheena from SPG, ideas are being transformed into action and learning is opening doors to real opportunity.

This is only the beginning.

Our vision is to connect refugees to global opportunities, sustainable livelihoods, and long-term independence, enabling them to build futures they can truly be proud of.

Movie Screening in Kakuma – Celebrating Growth & Impact

We are proud to share that .media01 , an organization created by students of , in partnership with and , has organized a movie screening in Kakuma to showcase films made from Kakuma, by talent from Kakuma.

This moment is truly special. Seeing our students grow, take initiative, and begin to impact the world through their skills is a powerful reminder of why we do this work. It reflects the vision of STMP—empowering young people not only to learn, but to lead, create, and give back.

This is the change STMP aims to implement in the camp in the coming year: more young people using what they have learned at STMP Learning Center to serve their community, inspire others, and create opportunities for the next generation.
