They gave us numbers,
not names…

One, two, three
you may survive.

Four…
you wait.

Wait for food that does not come,
for help that skips your door,
for a system that wrote you off
in ink.

And somewhere,
a paper says
everything is working.

A more effective model requires proximity. Not occasional field visits, but sustained presence. Not representation alone, but direct dialogue. Engagement must move from staged participation to embedded consultation. Decision-makers need to experience the context they are designing for. They need to sit in the heat, hear unfiltered voices, and observe constraints firsthand. Only then can interventions align with reality.

Refugees do not lack insight. They lack access to the spaces where decisions are made. Bridging this gap is not optional. It is foundational to any system that claims to serve.

There are countless reasons to choose me for your next project

A camera doesn't just capture images it channels intent. When emotions shape action, action dictates shot size, and shot size defines angle and perspective, storytelling becomes transformative. I believe every frame is a decision made to stir, to move, to change.

I work from the inside out starting with the emotion, which guides the action, which in turn informs the shot size, angle, and perspective. My framing is intentional and layered, blending empathy with visual strategy to create work that is both artful and impactful. Whether I’m producing a vibrant commercial or a human-centered documentary, I align technique with purpose to ensure every visual moment is meaningful.

When words fall silent, the feathers speak of love, of pain, of who we are.

In Turkana culture:
• 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲, 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.
• 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
Over 68% of women in rural Turkana still wear feathers during cultural rites, affirming identity through tradition.

“Have you really lived in Kakuma for the last 30 years?”
That’s a question We hear often usually followed by, “How do you survive the heat, the conditions, the reality?”

But Kakuma is more than what headlines show. It's a place full of untold stories of endurance, transformation, and hope.

As a photojournalistic media company, We document these moments through a lens of humanity and truth.
If you're curious about what life in a refugee camp is really like and what it means to rise in the face of adversity follow us and explore Kakuma.

Culture is not worn it’s expressed.
Goat skin is not style it’s a statement.
To them, beads are not accessories they are archives.

And when the world sees only style, it fails to recognize the fire. The real runway is in reclaiming narrative, not merely walking it.

So, the question isn’t whether they are models, but whether we are truly watching.

Let’s shift the perspective. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆. Share, support, and celebrate young refugee girls who are not just modeling attire, but embodying identity. Repost their stories. Amplify their voices. Because when culture is expressed, it deserves to be witnessed not just watched.

I remember my childhood wrapped in my mother’s 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲.. It wasn’t just clothing it was a symbol of identity, tradition, and survival. For my mother, it was a wallet, she would secure coins and notes on the edge of a kitenge, and a means of carrying me on her back. For many women in my community, in the early 2000s in Kakuma Refugee Camp, it was the only piece of fabric they could afford, yet it held the warmth of a thousand embraces.

Today, I see young refugee girls 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. They use it boldly in 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘃𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻. 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Every time they wear it, they carry generations of strength and beauty. This is more than modeling this is storytelling through 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲.

In today’s world, alcohol is often seen as a social indulgence, disconnected from purpose and meaning. But did you know that African traditional brews were once the foundation of 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲?

Take Merti Ci Ori from the Didinga community a maize-based brew that wasn’t just consumed but served as a cultural instrument. It named newborns, sealed peace agreements, united communities in celebrations, and facilitated spiritual purification.

In ASAL areas settings, the prevalence of 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗹 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟳% 𝘁𝗼 𝟯𝟲%, 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝟲𝟲% 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀. In community settings, it is lower, ranging from 𝟰% 𝘁𝗼 𝟳%, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟰% 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟵% 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 .

Modernization has erased much of this history, replacing deep-rooted traditions with mass-produced alcohol that lacks the essence of communal value. Should we revisit and preserve these meaningful traditions?

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲?

We witness a reflection of humanity's larger struggle in the repercussions of Kakuma's water crisis: plenty exists, but distribution fails, exposing not a lack of resources but a lack of will. The fact that suffering increases as systems recede is highlighted by USAID's withdrawal, which makes us question if development is determined by what we provide or by what we withhold.

Water scarcity in Kakuma is not just a crisis it’s 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The time for temporary solutions is over. CBOs, RLOs, NGOs, and partners, let’s unite to implement sustainable, community-driven water solutions.

Share your ideas, and advocate for lasting change.
