🇰🇪 Ex-Nairobi Water Officer Jailed 5 Years, Fined KSh5 Million Over Fake Degree Scandal
A former Revenue Officer at Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited has been sentenced after being found guilty of using forged academic credentials to secure employment and benefit from public funds.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) confirmed that Mr. Okandah William John was convicted by the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court on multiple counts including forgery, uttering false documents, deceiving a principal, and fraudulent acquisition of public property.
He has been sentenced to five years in prison and fined KSh5 million following investigations that revealed he worked for years using fake academic qualifications while earning salary and benefits unlawfully.
