INTERNATIONAL YOUTH WEEK 2026 | KAPENGURIA, WEST POKOT COUNTY

Today, we joined young people, county leaders, partners, and other stakeholders at Kapenguria Garden, Makutano, West Pokot County, to celebrate International Youth Week 2026.

The event brought together young people to celebrate their talents, creativity, strength, and potential. It also highlighted the important role of young people in promoting peace, unity, innovation, good leadership, and community development.

Young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow. We are also important partners in shaping our communities today and building a better future.

We appreciate the county leadership, partners, youth groups, and everyone who supported this important event.

Congratulations to the Turkana Leaders for putting the interests of their people first. 👏

It is encouraging to see Turkana leaders come together and engage directly with President William Ruto on matters aimed at addressing the needs and development of the entire Turkana community.

Meanwhile, here in West Pokot County, our people continue to face serious challenges, yet our leadership remains heavily divided by political conflicts and differences.

The people of West Pokot deserve leadership that puts community interests above political rivalries. We have pressing issues that require unity, dialogue, and collective action—not endless political divisions.

When leaders unite for their people, the community benefits. West Pokot also deserves the same commitment.

It is time for our leaders to put aside their differences and come together for the betterment of the people of West Pokot.
