Hon. Dalmas Otieno Anyango has passed on.

The late Dalmas Otieno was first elected Member of Parliament for Rongo in 1988. He served as Minister for Industrialisation (1988–1991), later as Minister of Labour & Human Resource Development, and as Minister of Transport (1991–1996).

In 2007, he joined Raila Odinga’s ODM, clinched the Rongo parliamentary seat, and was appointed Minister of Public Service.

News of his passing has been received with deep sorrow, with leaders across the country describing him as a dedicated, hard-working, and sharp thinker.

Prayers and condolences go out to his family, the people of Rongo, and Migori County.

SHA Dismisses Claims of KShs. 19 Million Payout to “Ghost” Health Facility

 The Social Health Authority (SHA) has dismissed reports suggesting it disbursed KShs. 19 million to a non-existent health facility, terming the claims “false, misleading, and irresponsible.”

SHA clarified that the funds in question were paid to Nyandiwa Level 4 Hospital in Gwassi, Suba South, Homa Bay County.

The hospital still uses its old account name “Nyandiwa Dispensary,” a common practice for upgraded facilities.

✅ An abandoned structure shown in the media was wrongly linked to SHA — it has never been contracted.

💬 “SHA does not and will never disburse funds to ghost facilities. Every shilling is verified,” said CEO Dr. Mercy Mwangangi.

SHA urged the media to fact-check before publishing, assuring the public that all payments are transparent and posted online on the SHA website.

On 16th August 2025, Fr. Maloba Wesonga marked a remarkable milestone in his spiritual journey with a Thanksgiving Mass to commemorate 25 years of Priestly service in the Lord’s vineyard.

The Silver Jubilee celebration was held at St. John the Evangelist Parish, Karen, and brought together family, clergy, and friends from all walks of life who came to honor and rejoice with him.

Speakers and well-wishers highlighted the outstanding attributes that have defined Fr. Maloba’s ministry over the years:
