Developing Story | Heaton Park Synagogue Attack

Two people have died and three others are seriously injured after a terror attack at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue on Middleton Road.

Police confirmed that a car was driven into people outside the synagogue before a stabbing incident unfolded. Armed officers attended and the suspect was shot dead at the scene.

Worshippers had gathered to mark Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, when the attack occurred.

Counter-terrorism officers are leading the investigation, and security has been stepped up in the area.

More details to follow as the story develops.

🇳🇬⚽ Osimhen Makes History in Istanbul!

Victor Osimhen converted a 16th-minute penalty to hand Galatasaray a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League group stage clash at Rams Park on September 30.

The Nigerian striker reached 10 career Champions League goals, becoming the first Nigerian player to hit double digits in the competition.

Galatasaray climbed to 4 points and second place in their group, while Liverpool’s night worsened with injuries to Alisson Becker and Hugo Ekitike, leaving them with back-to-back defeats and mounting defensive concerns.

🔥 Historic night for Osimhen. Tough road ahead for Liverpool.

✨🙏 ST. MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL PARISH FAMILY DAY 🙏✨

Faith and Thanksgiving filled the air at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Lang’ata, as they celebrated their Parish Family Day.

This blessed day was marked by the Sacrament of Confirmation, where over 100 boys and girls were sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit—strengthening their union with Christ and empowering them as witnesses of faith. ✝️🔥

In his homily, the Auxiliary Bishop urged families to cultivate homes of understanding and love, reminding us that many within families experience loneliness, and that we are called to walk together in unity as a Church.

💫 Theme 2025:
“Walking by Faith, Living as Pilgrims of Hope.”

We give thanks to God for the gift of family, faith, and community. May St. Michael the Archangel continue to guide and protect us as we journey together in Christ. ❤️

In his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, President William Ruto renewed calls for Africa’s permanent representation on the UN Security Council.

“Africa dominates most of the Security Council’s agenda, provides some of the largest contingents to UN peacekeeping, and bears the heaviest costs of instability. Yet we remain the only continent without a permanent seat at the table. Africa deserves two permanent seats with full rights, including the veto, and two additional non-permanent seats.”

His statement intensifies the debate on global governance reforms and Africa’s rightful place in international decision-making.

FULL-TIME IN BILBAO! 🔥

Arsenal kick off their 2025/26 Champions League campaign with a 2-0 away win over Athletic Club! ⚽🔴⚪

After a quiet first half, it was the bench that made the difference 👊
✨ Martinelli opened the scoring in the 72nd minute after a brilliant link-up with Trossard.
✨ Minutes later, the duo switched roles — Martinelli the provider, Trossard the finisher — sealing all three points in Spain.

A perfect start for Mikel Arteta’s men in Europe! 💪

The undisputed Queen of the 1500m reigns supreme! 👑🇰🇪

Faith Kipyegon has made history at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, winning her fourth women's 1500m world title!

Clocking a phenomenal 3:52.15, the 31-year-old superstar led a brilliant Kenyan one-two finish. Her teammate Dorcus Ewoi took a well-deserved silver with a new personal best of 3:54.92, while Australia's Jessica Hull claimed bronze in 3:55.16.

This victory, her third consecutive world gold in the event, extends Kipyegon's incredible unbeaten streak in major finals and solidifies her legacy as the only athlete with four world titles AND three Olympic golds in the 1500m.

A truly legendary performance on the very same track where she won her 2021 Olympic title!
