This is little Tobias, a six-year-old from Kahawa Wendani.
A few days ago, Tobias watched his two-year-old brother, Victor Amani, slip into the water. He tried to save him, risking his own life in the process. A passerby saw the struggle and managed to pull Tobias out, but sadly, baby Victor didn’t make it.
Victor was a happy, bubbly child who loved dancing to Mapangale. Locals at Kahawa Sukari Garage called him by the song’s name because of how joyfully he danced to it.
Their mother, Agnes Owino, works long hours running a small food business to care for her three sons, leaving the house at 3 a.m. and returning as late as 11 p.m. Every day, she carries the weight of motherhood and survival, trying to make ends meet with strength and dignity.
With no one else to help, Agnes would leave Tobias(6) in charge of his little brothers, Dylan (4) and Victor (2).
Now, she’s mourning her son while trying to stay strong for the others.
The family urgently needs help to give Victor a dignified burial.
