Claims that the Umoja Water Project in Visoi Ward is a โdry tapโ are misleading. The Sh51.4 million project, commissioned by Governor Susan Kihika in September last year through a partnership between the Nakuru County Government and World Vision, was fully completed with functional boreholes, solar-powered pumping systems, elevated steel tanks, and automated kiosks. At commissioning, the project was already supplying clean and reliable water to households, schools, and health facilities across seven beneficiary villages, directly serving more than 12,500 residents. It also formed part of a broader county initiative that had already improved access to safe water for over 3,000 households in Visoi, Soin, Menengai, Mosop, and Solai Wards. The Umoja Water Project stands as a key milestone in addressing the long-standing challenges of high fluoride levels and water scarcity in Rongai Sub-County โ ensuring communities have sustainable access to safe, clean water.Belowis a Video clip the Governor launching one of the households tap before it was edited by some people for obvious political reasons.https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14LTrLrfvDf/
