Through Compassion and Care, We Illuminate our World.

On 7th July 2023, Honourable Mary Maingi in collaboration with Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital and Equity Group hosted an eye camp in Thiba Health Center, which attracted residents from various parts of Mwea constituency.

A total of 912 patients were treated at the eye camp, with several others receiving treatment despite not being formally registered.

The eye camp provided comprehensive eye examinations, check-ups, information sessions on eye health and hygiene and glasses were distributed to those who required them.

Out of the more than 900 patients who received treatment, 60 were scheduled for further treatment as per the patients’ needs.

The gift of sight care, the smiles of gratitude, and the hope ignited in countless hearts all served as a testament to the power of compassion and collective effort.

His story is pretty strange. Recently he was a player of Imbabura SC of the Ecuadorian second division. 👀

On 5th November 2022, he is called up by Equador Coach Gustavo Alfaro to play the friendly match against Iraq and also as part of the training group of the Ecuadorian national team. On 14th November 2022, he was included in the final list for the World Cup 2022. It was a surprise for all of Ecuador. 😳

Equador Coach Gustavo Alfaro justified his call with this statement: "Every time I see Kevin, he reminds me of my fighting years, he reminds me of the years when I was in the Ascension. In a year, I travelled more than 44,000 kilometers by bus to play matches, and dreaming about my country's league football, not to mention a World Cup. It was in another dimension. But I'm for it, to give chances." ❤

President Ruto Urges All Kenyans To Plant 100 Trees Each.

The Head of State highlighted the current climate change in the country, and the whole of the African continent, as subject to a dilapidated environment.

Addressing Kirinyaga County residents on Saturday during the commissioning of the Ksh.8.2 billion Thiba Dam, he said Kenyans have to partake in the whole reconstruction process of afforestation to ensure the effect of the climate change is reversed by planting five billion trees.

“Every Kenyan, 50 million of us, must plant at least 100 trees, either in your compound, in your farm or in any other place you find...that is the surest way for us to turn around the climate so that we can have water, grow crops, do dams, agro-processing and make sure we have prosperity,” He said.

Raila Odinga's wife, Ida, has broken her silence over the killing of her fun-loving bodyguard Barrack Oduor Onyango alias Jaraha.
