✨ God’s Gift, Our Joy! ✨

We rejoice and give thanks to the Lord of the harvest for the beautiful gift of vocations.

Let us keep our Friars in prayer as they prepare to be ordained to the Diaconate and Priesthood.

Congratulations to them! 🎊

The opening AMECEA Plenary Mass has today been celebrated at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, bringing together bishops, priests, religious, and faithful from across the AMECEA region. The Holy Mass was led by H.E. Michael Cardinal Czerny, S.J., Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and concelebrated by scores of bishops and priests from the AMECEA countries.

In the homily, Cardinal Czerny encouraged young people not to allow themselves to be robbed of hope, reminding them that the Church continues to read the signs of the times and to create ways of drawing people into the Kingdom of God. He called on all the faithful to become weavers of hope in the world, especially by walking with young people so that the presence of Jesus may continue to grow among us.

Archbishop Philip Anyolo, in his address to the youth, reminded them that they are not only the future of the Church, but the presence of God in our midst today. He urged them to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them and to become courageous witnesses of the Gospel proclaimed to them.

The story is better told in the photos below.

Eight deacons were today ordained to the priesthood at the Holy Family Minor Basilica in a solemn celebration led by Archbishop Philip Anyolo and concelebrated by Bishop David Kamau, Bishop Obed Muriungi, His Eminence John Cardinal Njue, Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Nairobi, and scores of priests.

In the homily, Bishop Obed Karobia reminded the deacons that priesthood is a call to be united with Christ in service to the people of God through preaching, administering the sacraments, and especially the Eucharist, by which the faithful are nourished with the Word of God and the Body of Christ.

He emphasized that priesthood is not about status, but about the growth of the Church, calling the new priests to be true signs of Christ, to preach with courage, and to live lives worthy of their calling.

At the end of the celebration, Archbishop Philip Anyolo urged the newly ordained priests to preach the doctrine with firmness and joy as they begin their ministry in the service of God’s people. They were then assigned to their respective areas of mission across the Archdiocese and beyond.

Fr. Levis Kamamo was appointed to Our Lady of Fatima Parish Kiriko, Fr. Eliud Kinyanjui to St. Teresa Parish Ngenya, Fr. Francis Ngunjiri to Christ the King Parish Githurai, Fr. Stephen Muhia to Holy Rosary Parish Kamwangi, Fr. Michael Esafu to Our Lady of Assumption Parish Kambaa, Fr. Joseph Ngugi to St. Anne Parish Mataara, and Fr. Victor Wasike to Holy Spirit Parish Miguta, while Fr. Victor Mureithi, SJ, returns to continue his licentiate studies. *ALERT*

They are not perfect… but they have been chosen.

A priest or a religious does not represent only themselves.

They have given their lives completely to God.

And although they are human, their vocation is sacred.

To attack, mock, or scorn that self-offering…
wounds something deeper than you imagine.

The Church teaches respect, not idolatry.

Pray for them.
Support them.
Walk with them.

For they bear a mission that is not light.

And the world already wounds them enough.

Change your perspective today.

For whoever honors what is consecrated…
honors God.

TOMORROW IS CORPUS CHRISTI SUNDAY.

As the Church prepares to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, we are invited to reflect on one of the greatest gifts Jesus has given us: the Holy Eucharist.

Corpus Christi is a reminder that Christ did not simply leave us His teachings or memories of His earthly life. He remains with us in a real and profound way through the Eucharist. At every Mass, Jesus offers Himself to us—His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—nourishing our souls and strengthening us for the journey of faith.

In a world often marked by uncertainty, division, and restlessness, the Eucharist remains the source of our peace and hope. It is where heaven touches earth, where Christ comes to meet His people, and where weary hearts find strength. Every Holy Communion is an invitation to deepen our relationship with the Lord who loves us completely and desires to remain close to us.

As we approach Corpus Christi Sunday, let us prepare our hearts with gratitude and reverence. May we not receive the Eucharist out of routine, but with renewed faith and love, recognizing the incredible gift before us. Let us also spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, adoring Christ who remains present among us day and night.

Tomorrow, may we join the Church in proclaiming with joy and conviction:

"Lord Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist, we adore You, we thank You, and we love You."

🙏 O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.
