The Empire is Found
The tortoise followed the silver road and found the snail sitting safely under a thick leaf. The snail wasn't tired, and he wasn't lost. He was standing on the "Empire" he had built, one inch at a time.

The tortoise looked back at the miles he had run in his life. He realized that despite all his speed, the forest didn't even know he had been there. He had no legacy. He had just been a blur in the wind.

The snail looked at him with quiet confidence. He had never been racing the tortoise; he was only racing his own yesterday. He knew that if you build your "business" or your life on a solid foundation, the world will eventually have to walk on the path you created.

One day, the sky turned black and a massive storm hit the forest. The winds were so strong they blew the dust everywhere, and the rain turned the ground into a slippery, muddy mess.

The tortoise panicked. He tried to run to safety, but he had no grip. He was fast, but he had no foundation. He slipped, he slid, and because he had never built a "path," he didn't know which way was home. He was a champion with nowhere to go.

Then, he felt something solid under his feet.

It was the snail’s trail. It had hardened into a shimmering, silver road. It didn't wash away in the rain. It was a dependable system that mapped the entire forest.

The Secret of the Slime
You see, every time the tortoise took a step, his footprint disappeared in the wind. He moved fast, but he left nothing behind. He was just "moving for moving's sake."

But the snail? Every inch he moved, he left a silver trail. To the tortoise, it looked like a messy waste of time. But to the snail, that trail was his **system**.
* That silver trail made the rough ground smooth.
* It made the steep hills easy to climb.
* It was a map that meant he could never be lost.

The snail knew that to build an empire, you don't need speed. You need a foundation. He was laying down "bricks" of silver every single day.
