Today, we mourn the loss of a legend โ€” Ngลฉgฤฉ wa Thiongโ€™o โ€” a fearless voice, a literary warrior, a son of Kenya who used words like weapons and language like love.

He told our stories when no one else would.
He reminded us that our languages matter, our cultures are valid, and our pain and beauty deserve pages and history.

Through novels, plays, essays, and resistance, Ngลฉgฤฉ gave generations the courage to speak truth to power. His pen challenged oppression. His spirit championed decolonization. His legacy will live in every Kenyan child who dares to write, in every African who dares to dream in their mother tongue.

From Weep Not, Child to Decolonising the Mindโ€”he didnโ€™t just write books.
He rewrote our dignity.

Rest well, mzee.
You have finished the chapter, but your story will never end.
